Overview


Adult Mental Health Services department of CHCS provides a wide spectrum of services to adults who have a mental illness. The purpose of these services is to help people develop and maintain their capacity to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible in the community. Through the Individual Support Planning (ISP) process each person has the opportunity to identify their goals with supportive assistance and develop a plan to achieve them.

Services are provided for adults with severe and prolonged mental illness who need assistance in achieving and maintaining independent living in the community.

A discription of the services are provided below.
  • Community Living Services provides supportive counseling, advocacy, linkage with community resources, case management, and homeless outreach.
  • Housing Options offers group homes, transitional apartments, housing for homeless persons, rental subsidy, and Independent Living Skills.
  • Supported Employment (Big Red Redemption Center) focuses on vocational training and work preparation programs.
  • Adult Rehabilitation/Day Treatment programs teach daily living skills.
  • Counseling, Therapy and Medication Management.
  • Assertive Community Treatment provides intensive treatment and rehabilitation services to persons at high risk of psychiatric hospitalization.
